The Alhambra Studio was one of many photographic enterprises in Southampton. Formerly known simply as Adams and Stilliard, it quite possibly took on its new exotic branding in reponse to Frank Strange's Philharmonic Hall which translated that impresario's Royal Alhambra Palace in London to the quayside town. Undoubtedly royal patronage encouraged Adams and Scanlan to lift their game. Of note is the imprint on the back of this lithographed souvenir card: Trapp & Munch, Berlin. Truly an artefact with an international story.
