The Council point with satisfaction to the steady progress, as the leading feature of the present Report, of the Schools subsidised by the Anglo-Jewish Association. There is good ground for anticipating that this progress will be fully sustained, and the Council have taken steps to put themselves in a more favourable position for considering the requirements of those educational institutions which have special claim for larger support. Bel ore entering into details upon this subject, they follow the usual custom of dealing briefly with the principal events concerning the Association during the past year.
The Council regret to have to announce several losses which the Association has suffered during the year. Mr. Levi A. Cohen, Editor of the Reveil du Maroc, published at Tangier, died last November in London. He had been for many years a constant correspondent of the Association, and indefatigably advocated the rights and claims of his Jewish fellow-countrymen. The void occasioned by his death has to some degree been supplied by the recent formation of a Branch at Tangier.
