SOUTHAMPTON HONORARY FIRE BRIGADE.
The Southampton Honorary Fire Brigade was established in the year 1837» and has for its object the protection of the lives and properties of the inhabitants of the town and neighbourhood from fire, the rewarding of individuals who exert themselves in rescuing their fellow-creatures from danger, and the relief of those, who, by so doing, suffer any hurt or injury
in consequence.
The Engine-house is in Orchard-street, near the Bargate.
The keys are kept by Mr. Ball, Orchard-street; Mr. H. Evans, 27, Above-bar* Mr. T. Ledicott, 126, High-street; and Mr. T. Shepard, 28, French-st.

SOUTHAMPTON FIRE DEPARTMENT.
This department (under the control of the Board of Waterworks) consists of a superintendent and thirty-six firemen. Five engines are attached to it.
The Engine-house is in Winchester-terrace, and a key is kept at Mr. Tilley's, opposite; also by Messrs. Garrett, East-street, and in Market-lane. Superintendent—Mr. George Garrett, East-street.
