Illustrated tourist handbooks were the Lonely Planet Guides of the nineteenth century. The local firm, Mate & Sons, produced this lovely volume in a distinctive format for a burgeoning clientele keen to discover the delights of Southasmpton and the surrounding countryside and waterways.
