Letter from John Ponsonby, first Viscount Ponsonby, [British ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary at Vienna], to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: he cannot bear to be silent when he is convinced Palmerston is running into danger. He begs him to consider the great change which has taken place in the state of affairs and to examine the reports and opinions sent to him. 16 Sep 1848 The letter is marked “Private”.
