Letter from John Ponsonby, first Viscount Ponsonby, [British ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary at Constantinople], to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: the mode of proceeding suggested by Palmerston has already been recommended. In more than one part of the Austrian Empire people have begun to think it will be in their interests to keep it together. 12 Apr 1848
