Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, Downing Street, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: thanks for the statement respecting Sir John Campbell. John Russell states that Adair will not stay long at Berlin; John Russell seems anxious that William Russell should succeed him. Melbourne thinks this a fair arrangement and agreeable to the Duke of Bedford and Adair. 10 Jul 1835
