Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, Windsor Castle, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: he sends a letter [not enclosed] which he has received from Lady Lansdowne which Palmerston will be sorry to read. Melbourne is sorry that Lady Lansdowne and her brothers are dissatisfied and wishes that something could be done to satisfy them but they are, in fact, unreasonable. Although the Frankfurt mission may be of inferior rank, Melbourne thinks it offers as much important as others. 19 Dec 1839
