Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, South Street, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: unable to send the Duke of Wellington’s letter because he has mislaid them. An English aide de camp of the Emperor of Russia, the son of a gentleman residing in Hampshire, saw upon the table of the Emperor plans for the Russian fleet to attack Calcutta, Madras and Bombay. 5 Mar 1839
