Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, South Street, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: he thinks the first part of the instructions is clearly right and that there is little doubt about the latter. Melbourne thinks there is no question but that the Quadruple Treaty units us to assist the Queen actively against Don Miguel and that the best certainty against any movement is his knowing this. 5 Oct 1836
