Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, Brocket Hall, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: the business is very satisfactorily managed; apprehension and irritation still exists: a fear that a match will be brought about against his wishes. Wishes Palmerston to attend a Council meeting on Wednesday regarding the recommendations of the ecclesiastical committee. He will read Palmerston’s pamphlet. He has just been reading “Russia by a Manchester Manufacturer.” 30 Sep 1836
