Content:
Letter from William Lamb, second Viscount Melbourne, Brocket Hall, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: the state of the government in Portugal rendered the news very likely: the real cause of Louis Philippe’s conduct. Thinks the British course with respect to Spain is perfectly right and well defensible. It is fortunate that the Queen did not take refuge onboard British ships. The real object of Leopold’s visit. 18 Sep 1836
