Letter from Sir Stratford Canning, [British ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary on a special mission to Constantinople], Naples, to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: as a sequel to his last letter to Palmerston, Canning is sending this note to report that his frigate has reappeared off Brindisi and he is hurrying to join it. 13 Dec 1831 The letter is marked: "Private". There is a note in pencil on the docket: "Received from Lord Palmerston, 4 January 1831" [1832].
