Letter from Sir Stratford Canning, [Member of Parliament for King's Lynn], Grosvenor Square, [London], to Henry John Temple, third Viscount Palmerston: For two days Canning has had to defer asking a further question on the [Bushire] expedition from Bombay in the House of Commons because Palmerston has not been there to answer it. At half past four that afternoon Hobhouse will be in the Commons. Canning will also attend in the hope that Palmerston also will be there. 27 Jul 1838 [Postscript] Canning's question refers more to Palmerston's department. 27 Jul 1838
