Caption:
Along with George Cawte, Kelito Job Broadbere was a fixture in the local bookbinding landscape. Born in Bristol, he appears with his father, Benjamin, as a bookbinder and stationer at Mitre Corner, High Street, Salisbury. Arriving in Southampton in the late 1860s/early 1870s, he was based first in Brunswick Square, then Pembroke Square, then the Hanover Buildings. These two volumes show some of his finest masterwork, with vellum spine, marbled boards, and the ublquitous binder's ticket.
