SUMMARY OF TEE YEAR'S WOBE.
The following pages furnish a succinct account of the efforts made by the Council during the past year to do justice to the duties with which they are charged.
The Council have been chiefly occupied with the consideration of measures for the prevention of persecution, and for improving the education of the young amongst Jewish Communities in foreign countries. In this philanthropic work the Anglo-Jewish Association has, as heretofore, been benevolently countenanced by Her Majesty's Government, as well as by many influential coadjutors at home and abroad.
Before entering upon details of their stewardship, the Council have to devote a short retrospect to subjects connected with the internal affairs of the Association. A record of deep regret is due to some
