of subjecting the Falashas to baptism. The King, in fact, views with displeasure any endeavour to make proselytes amongst the Falashas. In a village near Gondar, where the inhabitants are exclusively Jews, they enjoy perfect religious liberty, and share with the Christians an absolute equality of rights.
Thanks Voted to Me. Serjeant Simon, M.P.—In July, 1880, the Council resolved that a cordial vote of thanks be offered to Mr. Serjeant Simon, M.P., for the attention which he, in the House of Commons, had devoted with beneficial effect to the condition of the Jews in Morocco.
