III.—JOINT COMMITTEE OF THE ANGLO-JEWISH ASSOCIATION AND THE BOARD OF DEPUTIES.
Five meetings with the Delegates of the Board of Deputies have been held since June, 1880. The following subjects, the details of which are given in other parts of the present Report, were discussed: —
1—The question as to the advantages accruing to the Jews of Morocco through the appointment of Cid Mohamed Bargash to receive complaints and applications for redress in cases where Jews had been ill-treated by their local authorities.
2.—The arrangements for a Deputation to Sir John Drummond Hay, Her Majesty's Minister at Tangier, who visited London in the month
of September.
3.—A Memorial to Her Majesty's Govern-ment embracing the following subjects :
(a) Indignities inflicted on the Jews, who are compelled to walk barefoot in some Oi uhe thoroughfares in Moorish cities; (b) Complaints against the cruelties of the Governors of Entifa, Tarodant, and the City of Morocco; (c) Grievances of the Jews in Persia.
4.—The preparation of an Address of Condolence to the Emperor of Russia.
5.—The arrangements for a Deputation to wait upon Earl Granville for the purpose of making-representations concerning the present situation of the Jews in Russia.
