The Committee of the Bristol Branch of the Anglo-Jewish Association have to report, with other changes in the Executive, the appointment of Mr. John G. Levy as Hon. Secretary. They note with regret a diminution in the number of subscribing members, but are glacl to mention one circumstance in extenuation. The sufferings of their unfortunate co-religionists in Southern Russia affected very deeply the small body of Jews in Bristol, and an effort was made to forward to London an amount which might relieve some of the necessities of those victims of social and religious persecution. In response to an appeal from the Rev. D. Fay, the congregation subscribed nearly £60; while several of the leading Christian citizens, including the Mayor and one of the Members of Parliament, generously expressed their sympathy by donations—the Hon. Secretary of the Branch having invited the same by circular. Correspondence has passed between the Branch and the Parent Body in respect to the agitation in Russia, the prosperity of the Branch, and the suggested election of Christian subscribers to the Association as members and honorary officers. Arrangements have been made by the Committee for periodical meetings to discuss matters of interest to the Jewish people, and there is every
