A SUMMARY OF TEE YEAR'S WORE.
Since the issue of the last Annual Report the Association has been engaged in work which has affected the liberty and well-being of more than half-a-million of fellow Israelites, and which has become an important part of contemporary Jewish history.
Intimately allied with sister institutions in the Old and the New World, the Anglo-Jewish Association has taken a leading part in interposing its good offices in vindication of the rights of the Roumanian Jews. By this interposition the several Jewish public bodies in Europe, acting in conjunction with the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, have obtained from the Government of Roumania a qualified pledge that the proposals for the emancipation of the Jews in that Principality will not be needlessly thwarted,
