Manchester, May, 1876.
The Committee have to regret the loss, during the past year, through death and other causes, of about twenty subscribers.
In the absence of any special circumstances arousing fresh interest in the work of the Association, the Committee have had but little success in obtaining new Members.
It is much to be desired that the Parent Association should adopt the system pursued by great English societies, of sending deputations to attend the meetings of their branches, a system which brings about a community of thought, and a renewed activity in the undertaking.
In the past year, the usual contributions were made to the Jaffa Agricultural and to the Smyrna Schools. And in addition to these, at the General Meeting held on 14th February, the sum of JlOO was voted in furtherance of the Education Scheme of the Association.
