APPENDIX A.
CONSTITUTION OE THE ANGLO-JEWISH ASSOCIATION
IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ALLIANCE ISRAELITE UNIVERSELLE.
1 The title of the Association shall be the " Anglo-Jewish Association," in connection with the Alliance Israelite Umver-selle.
2. The objects of the Association shall be—
(a) to aid in promoting the social, moral, and intellectual progress of the Jews.
(b) To aid those who may suffer in consequence of being members of the Jewish community.
3. Members may be admitted at any meeting of the Council.
4. The minimum subscription shall be 5s. per annum. Donations will be received, either for the general purposes of the Association, or, with the consent of the Council, for special purposes connected with the objects of the Association.
5. Meetings of the members of the Association shall be held half-yearly, in the months of June and December, when a report of the proceedings since such last meeting shall be laid before them. It shall, however, be in the power of the Council to dispense with one of the half-yearly meetings should
it deem fit to do so.
6. These meetings shall be convened by advertisement and
circular.
7. No alterations in, or additions to, the laws of the Association shall be made, except at one of the half-yearly meetings, or at a meeting of the members specially convened for the purpose.
Any member desirous that any of the laws should be altered shall give notice in writing of the alteration desired to the Secretary, at least fourteen days before the meeting.
8. Notice of all proposed alterations in, and additions to, the laws shall be inserted in the circular convening the meeting.
9. The Association shall be governed by a Council of not less than twenty, nor more than forty members, exclusive of ex-officio members. The presidents of the branches shall be ex-officio members of the Council, and shall be entitled to attend and vote at its meetings.
