NINETEENTH ANNUAL REPORT.
20 Jewish youths have been admitted into that establishment at the expense of the Alliance Israelite, which will also pay the salary of a teacher of mechanics at the same School. This arrangement, which it is anticipated will exercise considerable moral influence on the relations between Jews and Mahomedans, has met with the cordial approval of high I urkish functionaries in Smyrna. The Girls' School maintains its high reputation both as regards elementary instruction and the products of the workrooms.
Tettjan (Morocco).—(Girls' School, 218 pupils; subvention, £35.)—This well-managed School continues to render important services to the Jewish girls of Tetuan, who are fitted for their future positions in the household by the instruction given to them in the workrooms.
