The President and Trustees are the Mayor and Corporation of Southampton, in whom the property is vested for the use of the Managing Committee. The schools are of an unsectarian character. On week days (Saturdays excepted) the schools are open from 9 till 12 in the morning, and froA 2 till half-past 4 in the afternoon. On Sunday mornings from half-past 9 till half-past 10, and in the afternoon from half-past 2 till half-past 4. During the winter months there is an evening school on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 7 till 9, conducted by the Master with the assistance of Voluntary Teachers.
In the " Industrial Department" the boys are instructed in tailoring, paper-bag making, and wood-chopping, under the superintendence of competent instructors.
The girls' school is under the management of a ladies committee, of which Mrs. William Westlake, of Grosvenor-square, is the Honorary Secretary.
