This Library has been established in connexion with
a large Metropolitan Institution, to supply the Gentry and
Public of Southampton and its vicinity with New and
Standard Works in all Branches of Literature. The
scope thus afforded is much greater than is usually obtained
in Provincial Libraries, and embraces all the newest Works
of History, Biography, Theology, and Travels, the leading
Reviews, and a good selection of Foreign and Juvenile Books.

The General Stock is kept in Town, and fresh Wrorks selected from the Subscribers' Lists are ordered fortnightly, on the 15th and 30th of the Month.
A Single Subscription entitles to Two Volumes at once, to be exchanged at any time for others from the Southampton Stock. Books which are desired to be specially exchanged from the London Stock must be returned by Six o'clock on the evening of the days appointed for ordering.
