The Free Delivery is bounded by the Southampton Water, Itchen River, milestones on Bevois Hill and in the Avenue, Park-house in Hill-lane, Summerly-house, in Romsey-lane, and Freemantle-cottage on the Millbrook-road. To all persons living within that boundary there is a delivery of letters three times a-day, commencing at 7 a.m. in the months of March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October—7-30 a.m. in November, December, January, and February—at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. throughout the year, provided the mails are sorted in time.
The Post-office, in Hanover-buildings, is open during the week for the sale of stamps, for|paid foreign letters, and official enquiries, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and on Sundays, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. No attendance whatever is given at the office window after 10 a.m. on Sundays, and after 10 p.m. during the week.
•Letters, &c., for these mails may be posted in the too-late letter-box, until 11 p.m., by affixing an additional stamp. No letters, &c., can be sent by any mail that is about to be despatched after the box closes.
