STEAM PACKET COMPANIES.
Boxes, or closed parcels, can be taken for all the British Possessions.
In all cases the foregoing charges must be paid before shipment.
Boxes, or closed parcels, cannot be booked at the London office later than three o'clock, two day's before the ship's sailing, and shippers must declare the value and contents, when a printed receipt.will be given. Periodical publications, with the covers open at both ends, will be taken till three o'clock p. m., on the day previous to the ship's sailing.
No parcels (except passengers' luggage) received on board any of the Company's packets but from the agents at each port.
No parcel is allowed to contain letters, bills, or money.
Parcels arriving from places abroad are lodged in the Custom-house, Southampton; from whence they will have to be retired by the parties to whom they may be addressed.
