Before 10 at night, on the Wednesday nearest the middle of the month, and on the 2nd of every month, for Malta, Greece, and Corfu, via Southampton. Before 10 at night, on the 2nd of every month, for Egypt and India, via Southampton. Before f past 8 in the morning, on the 7th of every month, for India, Malta, Ionian Isles, Greece, Egypt, and Syria, via Marseilles. Before 10 at night, on the first Tuesday in every month, for Madeira, Brazils, and Buenos Ayres. Before ~ past 8 in the morning, every day, except Sundays, and before 10 at night, every day, except Saturdays, for France and Belgium. Before § past 8 in the morning, every Tuesday and Friday, for Holland and Hamburg.
32.—When the days for the Departures of Foreign Mails happen on
Sundays.
When the 3rd or 18th of the month happens on a Sunday, letters for America should be posted before § past 8 on the morning of the 4th or 19th. When the 17th happens on a Sunday, letters for the West Indies should be posted before 10 on the night of the 17th. When the 2nd happens on a Sunday, letters for the West Indies, Mexico, &c., should be posted before 10 on the night of the previous Friday. When the 3rd happens on a Sunday, letters for India, China, and the Mediterranean, should be posted before 10 on the night of the 3rd. When the last day of the month falls on a Sunday, letters for New South Wales should be posted before f past 8 on the morning of the following day.
33.—Letters for the Mediterranean, by French Packets.
Letters for the following places can be sent by French packets, which leave Marseilles on the 1st, 11th, and 21st of every month : viz., Tuscany, Two Sicilies, Greece, Ionian Isles, The Dardanelles, Constantinople, and Alexandria. Letters sent by French packet, " via Marseilles,'1 if directed "per French packet via Marseilles," to Alexandria. Smyrna, The Dardanelles, and Constantinople, are charged la. 3c?. each letter. To Tuscany and the Two Sicilies, Is. 9d. To the Roman States and Greece, the postage is Is. Id. Each letter must however be under a \ oz.
34.—Newspapers for Foreign Parts.
Newspapers can be sent by packet boats, free of postage, to the following places abroad viz., Aden, Antigua, Bahama, Barbadoes, Berbice, Bermuda, Brazil, Bremen, Buenos Ayres, Canada, Cariacou, Caraccas, Colombia, Cuxhaven, Demarara, Denmark, Dominica, East Indies {via South ampton), France, Gibraltar, Greece, Grenada, Halifax, Hamburg, Hayti, Heligoland, Houduras, Hong Kong {via Southampton), Ionian Islands, Jamaica, La Guayra, Lubeck, Malta, Montscrrat, Nevis, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Novia Scotia, Oldenburg (Duchy of), Peru, Quebec, St. Kitt's, St. Lucia, St. Vincent's, Spain {via Southampton), Tobago, Tortola, Trinidad.
