POST-OFFICE INFORMATION.
A fee of one penny is charged for letters to be sent by the Exeter or London (night) mails, for the first 30 minutes after the box is closed for those mails, and two-pence for the second half-hour. No letters can be sent by the London (day) and Isle of Wight mails after the box is closed for such mails.

A mail leaves Southampton for Exeter, at half-past 12 at night; for London, at a quarter-before 2 in the morning ; for Romsey at 5 in the morning ; for Portsmouth, at 5 min. before 3 in the morning; for Lymington, at 3 in the morning ; for the Isle of Wight, viz., Newport, Cowes, Niton, and Ventnor, at half-past 5 in the morning; for London, at a quarter-before 9 in the morning; for Bath, at half-past 1 in the afternoon; and for the Isle of Wight, at half-past 1 in the afternoon.
11.—Departure of District Post Bags from Southampton.
Letter bags for Beaulieu, Fawley, Hythe, Marchwood, Totton, Redbridge, and Mijlbrook, leave Southampton, at 3 in the morning; for Bursledon, Botley, Itchen Ferry, West End, Highfield, and Swaithling, at 6 in the morning.

A mail arrives from London, at 12 at midnight; from the Isle of Wight (viz., Cowes and Newport), at half-past 10 in the forenoon ; from London (day mail), at a quarter-past 2 in the afternoon; from Bath, at 6 in the evening; from the Isle of Wight (viz., from Cowes and Ryde in summer, and from Cowes, Niton, Ventnor, and Newport in winter), at 6 in the evening ; from the Isle of Wight (viz., from Newport, Niton, Ventnor, and Cowes in the summer season only) at 8 in the evening; from Lymington, at quarter-before 11 at night; from Portsmouth and Romsey, at 11 at night.
