CHEQUES ACT 1957
Like many other firms we propose to discontinue issuing receipts for payments by cheques received after 17th Octobeiy. 1957, as the evidence of the cheque having passed through both Banks is now a legal acknowledgement of the payment having been made. This only applies to cheques and not to' Cash, Postal and Money Orders.
Unless you specifically request receipts for payments by cheque we shall assume you are in agreement with the above mentioned proposal.
